It's King Tides season in the Bay Area! During December 3-5, 2017 and January 1-2, 2018, help the CA King Tides Project document the highest high tides of today, which preview the average tides of the future! The project helps to visualize future sea level rise by inviting the public to photograph the highest high tides of the year.
It's easy to participate. Just pick a location, take your photos, and share them! Photos will be used to communicate about the effects of flooding and to spread awareness about the importance of protecting communities now.
Add your photos to the CA King Tides Project Flickr pool and share them on social media with #KingTides and #ResilientBay to help our neighbors around the bay visualize future sea level rise impacts. We've created some social media content for you to share to get people to #tweetthetide! Check it out here.
Join a group event! Our partners at the County of San Mateo Office of Sustainability are hosting two events Monday December 4th. Come to King Tides and Coffee in Half Moon Bay at 9am or Oyster Point Marina in South SF at 11am. More information here.
