BART runs out of multiple locations in the east bay down to Fremont. A trip from downtown Oakland takes 35 min. In Fremont one can transfer to VTA bus 181 which takes about 45 minutes to reach the Downtown Transit Center, from which it is several blocks to City Hall. Please note this is less expensive than Amtrak but takes much longer. The bus transfer is from the Fremont Station, not the South Fremont/Warm Springs Station at the end of the line.

From Diridon Station to City Hall

There are FordGo bikes available in both locations if you choose to bike, if so take the route down San Fernando Street; DO NOT ride down Santa Clara Street.
