Community Advisory Board — Nominations Open!

The Mithun Home Team believes that resilience in the bay area begins with a secure sense of home. Home is not just a house or apartment, but also the community we each belong to and the places where we live, work and play. A secure sense of home includes equitable access to nature, local jobs, healthy food, clean air and water, and opportunities to build wealth for all. We are particularly interested in working with the community on the challenges of equity and developing positive strategies to address the challenges of structural racism and the patterns of disinvestment, displacement and exclusion that have resulted. In the upcoming design phase, January through May 2018, the Home Team will be working with the community of North Richmond and related stakeholders to learn about the community; its current programs, activities and goals; share ideas and identify a project that can be funded and implemented in the short term to enhance resilience for both North Richmond residents and the neighboring communities.     Community Advisory Board – please join us!  (click) The Home Team is reaching out broadly to invite nominations to the North Richmond Resilient by Design Community Advisory Board. We are looking for representatives from diverse organizations and perspectives to help guide the community engagement and collaborative design process. The advisory board representatives will be collaborative, interested in the success of all members of the community and have a history or interest in community service specific to North Richmond or the Richmond area and an interest in supporting the Resilient by Design principles and goals.  The advisory board commitment is to attend a TBD number of two-hour long meetings (likely 3-6) from the beginning of February through May 2018; conduct some outreach and cultivate interest by additional community members.  A modest stipend for community leadership may be provided to the advisory board members.   Please consider nominating yourself and/or sending this invitation to others that would be valuable contributors to this process. Each person nominated should fill out the questionnaire below before January 29th @ 12PM.  We will select a wide range of individuals from varied backgrounds and perspectives for the board, and all nominated individuals will be updated regularly with progress from the team.  We look forward to working together.   Follow the link below to the Community Advisory Board Nomination Form: https://goo.gl/forms/JMfc2CKWvd85IIjr1
